Software Engineer - Realtime High Frequency Trading Systems

We are a small start-up with a dedicated team of engineers and theoretical quants. We are building an HFT (High Frequency Trading) platform to do fully automated algorithmic trading in the European power market. This requires the utmost attention to high-performance code where every microsecond counts, simply to be faster than the competitors. By maintaining a lean and agile structure, we can swiftly adapt to industry changes and challenges, giving us a competitive edge over larger, less flexible companies.

While you'll mainly be working on the trading system, we expect you to contribute to the overall engineering operations of the company.

Your main tasks involve:

• Developing new features for and improving the latency  of our real-time trading systems 
• Integrating low-latency machine learning algorithms into our trading system in collaboration with quant engineers
• Collaborating on intensive data-ingestion jobs to serve our AI model training
• Designing and improving our front-end monitoring systems with traders
• Automating the entire end-to-end trading and compliance pipeline 
• Collaborating on tools and frameworks to enhance developer experience and engineering efficiency.

Other tasks you will definitely be involved in includes:

• Continuous development and deployment of our applications
• Building out and maintaining our hardware infrastructure
• Setting up high-quality engineering and operations processes

• Ph.d or M.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3+ years of industry software engineering experience
• Expertise with Rust (or an interest in Rust with expertise in another low-level systems language such as C++ or Go)
• Embraces learning and mentoring, empowering other teammates
• Experience with on-call support and root-cause analysis of larger real time systems
